a ninety-three-year-old man in la garriga told us time is a sandclock — it doesn't pause, doesn't wait, doesn't flip back over once it's gone through. we made a film about a man who forgot that.

Story

Objective

Developed within Elisava's Narrative & Advertising module: build an audiovisual narrative that reveals a territory's identity beyond its tourist appeal. La Garriga isn't a postcard. It's not even really about La Garriga — it's about what happens to a person who stops noticing anywhere at all.

Approach

Field work first — interviews, local history, actual conversations before a single shot got planned. One of those conversations became the spine of the whole project: a local, ninety-three years old, describing time the way you'd describe weather — it just moves, you don't get a say. We built a fictional character, Sam, around losing that awareness, and let three small things pull him back: the first fruit of summer, a meal actually shared, and the permission to feel lost without rushing to fix it. Self-funded, no crew beyond the four of us.
